Farhana Runa, PhD

Dr. Farhana Runa is a Research Scientist in the Developmental Oncogene Laboratory at California State University. Her research is to understand the pathology of pancreatic cancer progression in the tumor microenvironment (TME). Dr. Runa obtained a diversified research background and skills throughout her academic training and professional development. She obtained M.S. from the University of Arizona and a Ph.D. from North Carolina of State University, where she explored the state of multinuclear condition of filamentous fungi. She also a contribution to the rapid diagnosis of Mycobacterium tuberculosis in Bangladesh through her M.S. research from the University of Dhaka. Her current research will advance in finding functional target candidates to develop an early diagnostic biomarker or treat aggressive cancer in the pancreas.
