Who We Are
The Biomedical Research Foundation (BRF) is an independent, non-profit organization based in Bangladesh. We aspire to be a world-class collaborative platform for biomedical research dedicated to improving the quality of human life. At our core, BRF is committed to nurturing and developing young researchers, empowering them to become the next generation of scientific leaders in Bangladesh’s health sector. Additionally, we serve as a vital bridge connecting local talent with the global expatriate scientific community.
Mission: Improving quality of life through biomedical research.
Values: Integrity, collaboration, ethically responsible, transparent and accountable.
Our Journey
BRF was born from the vision of a group of highly motivated researchers and entrepreneurs. The organization was envisioned by Dr. Mohammad Sorowar Hossain, who was inspired by the concept of ‘utilizing the underutilized resources’ to address public health problems. The foundation was brought to life through the strategic and logistical support of Mohammad Monowar Hossain (entrepreneur), Professor K.M. Sultanul Aziz (one of the nation’s most senior scientists), and expatriate researcher Dr. Enayetur Raheem. BRF officially began its journey in November 2016, driven by the determination to build a sustainable research culture in Bangladesh.
