Farhin Islam

Farhin Islam completed her BSS and MSS in Economics from the University of Dhaka in 2019 and 2020, respectively. She is a Research Fellow at the Bangladesh Institute of Development Studies (BIDS). Previously, she was a lecturer at the Dhaka School of Economics. She also worked at the World Bank Group Education Global Practice as a short-term consultant. She started her research career in SANEM in 2020. Her research interests are in Development Economics, especially in Health Economics. She works with BRF in several projects on Thalassemia, Palliative care, Childhood obesity, Occupational health, Suicide prevention, July uprising, and published several papers on these issues in international Scopus-indexed peer-reviewed journals. She also has a special interest in training others about data analysis and thus developed online and offline courses on Stata and Excel. She presented papers at several national and international conferences in India, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
