Henrike Karim-Kos, PhD

Henrike Karim-Kos is a cancer epidemiologist with PhD degree from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. Her PhD thesis on “Measuring progress against cancer in the Netherlands since the late 1980s: population-based studies of incidence, prognosis and mortality”was supervised by Prof. Dr. Jan Willem Coebergh (Erasmus MC University Medical Center) and Prof. Dr. Lambertus (Bart) Kiemeney (Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Center).She worked as a cancer epidemiologist in Comprehensive Cancer Center, location Groningen (IKNL) and in Comprehensive Cancer Center, location Leiden (IKNL), both in the Netherlands. She also worked as an epidemiologist in Dept. Demography, Public Health and Labor market, Statistics Austria, Vienna, Austria and in Public Health Service (GGD), Amstelland- de Meerlanden, Amstelveen, the Netherlands. She also served as a consultant epidemiologist at International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), Vienna, Austria. She is an expert in different statistical programs (SPSS, SAS, STATA).

Experience in project management and analysis of cancer data, collected by cancer registries and clinical trial organisations. Descriptive and analytic epidemiological analysis experience in the field of case-control and cohort studies and cancer registry data, including survival analyses. Authored more than 35 publications in international peer-reviewed scientific journals. Currently she is working as a senior epidemiologist at the Netherlands Comprehensive Cancer Organization (IKNL). Outside work, she enjoys being with her family and two children and travelling.
